High Quality Housing for Mt. Vernon Residents and Local Artists

Trinity Financial is transforming the site at 20 South 2nd Square into a vibrant new mixed-use development. The proposed project will include 272 high quality units of mixed-income rental workforce housing.

20 S. 2nd Ave will adopt the best practices of creative placemaking through revitalizing the former YMCA site into a state-of-the-art development brimming with community benefits, including a variety of resident amenities, on-site parking, space dedicated to arts programming and art installations, and new community facility space for Environmental Leaders of Color (ELOC), an organization providing education and advocacy on environmental justice and access to green jobs and technology.

Reactivating the Location



Trinity Financial and Comrie Enterprises are proposing to revitalize 20 South 2nd Avenue into a vibrant new mixed-use development. Elements of the proposed project include:

• Revitalizing the former YMCA site into a state-of-the-art development brimming with community benefits.

• Building amenities supporting residents, including co-working and creative common space for artists and makers.

• Over 11,000 SF of new community facility space dedicated to youth programming. The trailblazing educational facility will provide classroom space and multi-function space to provide youth with access to after-school and summer programming in environmental justice/green economy, arts, technology, and health & wellness.

• On-site parking with EV charging stations and bike storage.

20 South 2nd Ave will be designed to utilize no fossil fuels, and will incorporate green technologies such as geothermal heating and cooling, waste heat recovery and solar PV.

More than 11,000 square feet of space dedicated to youth-oriented, community-based organizations and dedicated space for Environmental Leaders of Color (ELOC), providing education and advocacy on environmental justice and access to green jobs and technology.

The project is a 5-minute walk to the Mount Vernon East Metro North Station, encouraging use of public transit and reducing the need for vehicular transportation. The project will also include secure bike storage.
