Dear Mount Vernon City Council Members:

I have reviewed the 20 South 2nd Ave plans and support the proposal because of the benefits to our community, including:

• New mixed-income rental housing, with apartments targeted towards low- and moderate-income artists and working people

• Bringing new life to an underutilized site and offering programs for existing Mount Vernon residents and youth

• New tax revenues to help fund services and programs throughout our community

• Administrative headquarters for the Environmental Leaders of Color (ELOC) program, providing information on environmental justice and access to green jobs and technology to the Mount Vernon community

• Sustainable and green building features including zero fossil fuels, passive house design standards, geo-thermal heating & cooling systems, and photovoltaic energy generation



As a Mt. Vernon community member, I support the plan and its approval to improve Mt. Vernon's growth and opportunities.
